Damian Priest Wins NXT North American Championship

In July, Priest started to pursue the vacant NXT North American Championship. He was scheduled to be in a triple threat match against Oney Lorcan and Ridge Holland, and the winner of the match would be given a spot to win the title in a ladder match at NXT TakeOver: 30. On the August 5 episode of NXT, Priest won the qualifier match and was added to the ladder match. At NXT TakeOver: 30, Priest won the NXT North American Championship, marking his first championship win in WWE.

On October 28th, 2020, Damian Priest lost the NXT North American Championship to Johnny Gargano at NXT’s Halloween Havoc event.

Damian Priest’s Main Roster Debut

Damian Priest made his main roster debut in the 2021 Royal Rumble match, entering at #14. He eliminated John Morrison, The Miz, Elias and Kane before being eliminated by Bobby Lashley.

The following night, Priest made his debut on Monday Night RAW after being introduced by Bad Bunny during a Miz TV segment. He defeated The Miz in a singles match, marking his first win on the main roster.

Damian Priest Wins United States Championship

At SummerSlam 2021, Damian Priest defeated Sheamus to win the WWE United States Championship. On the February 28 2022 edition of Monday Night RAW, Damian Priest lost the WWE US Championship to Finn Bálor. At WrestleMania 38, Priest made his appearance by distracting AJ Styles during his match against Edge, resulting in Styles losing the match. After the match, Edge celebrated his victory with Priest, starting an alliance between the two. Over the weeks, they continued to feud with Styles, further developing new mannerisms and character.

On the April 25th edition of RAW, Edge and Priest were dubbed The Judgment Day after which Priest defeated Bálor in a singles match. At Hell in a Cell on June 5, The Judgment Day (Edge, Priest and Rhea Ripley) defeated Styles, Finn Bálor and Liv Morgan in a six-person mixed tag team match. The next night on RAW, Edge introduced Bálor as the newest member of The Judgment Day. However, Bálor, Priest and Ripley suddenly attacked Edge, kicking him out of the stable.

The Judgment Day Forms

The Judgment Day began feuding with the Mysterios in an attempt to recruit Dominik into their ranks. At SummerSlam on July 30, Priest and Bálor lost to the Mysterios following interference from a returning Edge. At Clash at the Castle, Priest and Bálor lost to Edge and Rey Mysterio in a tag team match. Dominik turned heel on both of them to join The Judgment Day. On November 5, at Crown Jewel, Priest, Bálor, and Dominik defeated The O.C. (Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson) in a six-man tag team match after interference from Ripley. The Judgment Day defeated The O.C in an eight-person mixed tag team match to end their feud on the November 28 episode of RAW.

On the January 9, 2023 episode of RAW, Priest, Bálor and Dominik won a tag team turmoil match for an opportunity to challenge the Usos for the RAW Tag Team Championship. At RAW is XXX on January 23, The Usos successfully defended the championship against Priest and Dominik despite Jimmy Uso’s injury, with Sami Zayn taking Jimmy’s place.

Priest’s Various Battles in 2023

At the Royal Rumble on January 28th, Damian Priest entered the Royal Rumble match at #22 but was eliminated by Edge. On the February 6 episode of RAW, Priest defeated Angelo Dawkins to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match for the United States Championship. At Elimination Chamber on February 18, Priest failed to win the title.

On the RAW after WrestleMania 39, Priest got involved in Dominik’s confrontation with Bad Bunny, Priest’s WrestleMania 37 tag team partner. He ended up choke-slamming Bad Bunny through the announcer’s table. Bad Bunny returned on the April 24 episode of Raw and challenged Priest to a San Juan street fight at Backlash. At Backlash, Priest lost at Backlash after Savio Vega and Carlito interfered for Bad Bunny. On May 7, Priest, alongside Bálor, were selected as the RAW participants for the new World Heavyweight Championship tournament. But, Priest lost his qualifying match to Seth “Freakin” Rollins at the quarterfinals round on the May 8 episode of RAW.

On the June 5th episode of RAW, Priest unsuccessfully challenged Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Bálor interfered during the match to Priest’s chagrin as Priest had claimed that he does not need The Judgment Day to beat Rollins. Priest defeated Matt Riddle to qualify for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match on the June 12 episode of Raw.

Mr Money In The Bank

At Money in the Bank, Priest successfully retrieved the briefcase after delivering a Broken Arrow to LA Knight off the ladder. Later that night, Priest appeared halfway through the World Heavyweight Championship match between Bálor and Rollins. Priest’s presence distracted Bálor enough for Rollins to take advantage to win the match to the irate of Bálor.

Damian Priest and Finn Bálor defeated Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at PayBack 2023 to win the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship. In a rematch on September 25th, Damian Priest and Finn Bálor defeated Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to retain their titles. On October 7th, however, Priest and Balor lost the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship to Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. Their reign lasted 35 days. Priest and Bálor regained the titles nine days later on the October 16th episode of RAW.
