LIV MORGAN

Gionna Jene Daddio is a 30-year-old American professional wrestler currently signed to the WWE. Daddio performs for the company’s RAW brand under the ring name, Liv Morgan. She is also the WWE Women’s World Champion in her second reign.

Growing up in New Jersey, Daddio was a longtime fan of professional wrestling and would participate in wrestling matches with her five siblings.

In 2014, Daddio signed a contract with WWE after being discovered at Joe DeFranco’s gym in New Jersey. She was assigned to the company’s developmental brand, NXT, and made her first televised appearance at NXT TakeOver: Rival in February 2015 as a planted fan who jumped on Tyler Breeze during his ring entrance. She appeared again at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable as part of Breeze’s entrance.

Liv Morgan’s NXT In-Ring Debut

Using the ring name, Marley, Daddio began in-ring action as a jobber in October 2015 where she lost to Eva Marie. In December, she appeared on NXT under her new ring name, Liv Morgan. In 2016, Liv Morgan competed in tag team competition and as a singles competitor for NXT.

Morgan made her main roster debut in November 2017 on SmackDown Live. She formed a tag team with Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan called, The Riott Squad. The Riott Squad made their in-ring debut in a winning effort against Charlotte Flair, Naomi, and Natalya that month.

In 2018, Morgan participated in both women’s Royal Rumble matches at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and WrestleMania 34. She failed to win either match. In April 2019, Liv Morgan was assigned to the SmackDown brand during the SuperStar Shake-up which resulted in the break up of the Riott Squad. She was later drafted back to the RAW brand in October as the final overall pick of the year’s draft.

Since then, Liv Morgan has competed in WrestleMania 36 and various single matches. As part of the WWE Draft in October 2020, Liv Morgan was drafted to SmackDown. She is part of the Riott Squad with Ruby Riott.

She defeated Carmella and Vega in singles matches before she took Carmella’s spot in the ladder match, with Carmella competing against Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship the following week. This was due to Bayley suffering a legitimate injury while training, causing her “I Quit” match with Belair at Money in the Bank to be cancelled.

On the September 17th episode of Smackdown, Morgan teamed with Toni Storm to take on Zelina Vega and Carmella. The match ended via count out, which then lead to Morgan challenging Carmella to a match at Extreme Rules. Liv Morgan lost to Carmella.

Just hours after her win, Liv Morgan cashed in her Money in the Bank contract and defeated SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey to win the title.
