R-TRUTH
Ronnie Aaron Killings is a 51-year-old professional wrestler, rapper and actor from Williamsburg, South Carolina. He is signed to WWE and performs on RAW under the ring name, R-Truth.
Killings started his wrestling career after being persuaded by Jackie Crockett, a senior cameraman at World Championship Wrestling, took him to several WCW and Pro Wrestling Federation events and introduced him to various wrestling personalities. He debuted in 1997 in the Pro Wrestling Federation as a manager and then spent three years training with Manny Fernandez.
R-Truth’s WWE Contract
In 1999, Killings debuted in NWA Wildside and he also sent a promo videotape to World Wrestling Federation (now WWE). Under the ring name K-Kwik, he was signed to a two year developmental contract with the WWF and assigned to Memphis Championship Wrestling. K-Kwik debuted on the main roster in 2000 and assigned to a tag team with Road Dogg.
K-Kwik became a singles competitor in 2001 after Road Dogg was suspended from the WWF. He began competing in the hardcore division and defeated Raven for the Hardcore Championship in February but lost it to Crash Holly that evening and then won it again and lost the title again to Holly within seven hours. He was released from the WWF the following year.
Killings Joins Total NonStop Action Wrestling
Killings signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2002 and appeared weekly under the ring name, K-Krush. In July, K-Krush became known as “The Truth” after delivering an angry promo that implied he had been held back because of his race. At NWA-TNA 8, he won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Ken Shamrock.
In 2003, Killings teamed with Konnan and B.G. James to form the faction, 3LiveKru. The Kru debuted in August 2003 and won the NWA World Tag Team Championship in November. The Kru held the The NWA World Tag Team Championship titles until January 2004.
After defeating A.J. Styles, Raven and Chris Harris in a four-way title match, Killings became a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Championship in May 2004. His reign only lasted until June 2 but Killings and The Kru regained the NWA World Tag Team titles in November only to lose them in early December.
